MONSTA X

Hip-hop boy band MONSTA X have become international stars while logging hits in English, Japanese, and their native Korean. ∙ The group formed in 2015 as part of the South Korean reality competition TV series NO.MERCY, and they released their debut EP, Trespass, soon after. ∙ Since 2016, they have landed 10 different releases in the Top 10 of the Billboard World Albums chart, hitting No. 1 with the 2017 LP The Clan, Pt. 2.5 ‘Beautiful’. ∙ The band’s first Japanese-language album, Piece, arrived in 2018 and featured “Spotlight,” the first of four MONSTA X singles that have been certified Gold in Japan. ∙ They teamed up with EDM star Steve Aoki on the 2019 single “Play It Cool,” and later that year they joined forces with Colombian pop heartthrob Sebastián Yatra on “Magnetic.” ∙ In 2020, they released their first English-language LP, ALL ABOUT LUV, which featured guest spots from French Montana and Pitbull and reached No. 5 on the Billboard 200.
