On Eden Muñoz’s 2024 album Eden, the former Calibre 50 lead singer took his fair share of artistic risks. After reasserting his core música mexicana strengths with the subsequent Piedras a la Luna, the Sinaloan singer-songwriter continues to build upon his decidedly genre-expanding work with a second volume in his semi-eponymous series. Pan-Latin excursions abound here, with moments like “El Santo Cachón” and the tropically tinged “Yo No Sé Mañana” being of particular note. Joining Muñoz here are a number of acts representing an international spectrum, including Colombian vallenato singer Elder Dayán Díaz and Puerto Rican salsero Víctor Manuelle. Such collaborations further bolster his broadening talents, from the lovelorn cumbia “Casi Siempre Estoy Pensando En Ti” with Sonido Mazter to the promise-laden duet “Procura” with Manny Cruz. Still, there’s a decent amount of homegrown material here for those who prefer that aspect of his career, such as the urgent “Sin Ti No Sé Vivir”.
