Possessing a keening, clear voice, Bre Kennedy splices earnest, open-hearted pop with the sturdy songcraft of country music. Melding the dreamier elements of Taylor Swift and the stylish verve of Maren Morris, Kennedy also demonstrated an affection for classic rock aesthetics, occasionally drawing from the mysticism of Stevie Nicks. Jealous of Birds, her 2019 debut EP, had all these elements in place and she sharpened her craft on a series of subsequent albums that ran through Scream Over Everything in 2023.
