In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My first memory as a songwriter is me at 5 years old hiding behind a table at home, crying. I begged my mom to get me a ball and she declined. I cried all the way back home, ran to my room, got a pen and paper and scribbled what seemed legible. John Legend, Get Lifted Tammy Wynette, Take Me To Your World/I Don't Want To Play House Thandiswa, Ibokwe John Legend: Probably my most listened to album in my life. It’s number 1 every year. Thandiswa: This always draws me to self. To home. It’s spiritual, physical & emotional. Tammy Wynette: It sounds like a chat over tea w/ one of my best friends.
