About Ensemble Modern
Germany's Ensemble Modern has a long history of performances and recordings designed to perform and advocate new music. Each year, the Frankfurt-based group premieres some 20 new works and features many other contemporary works in its programming. Ensemble Modern has a large recording catalog stretching back to the early years of compact discs, and its repertory includes everything from popular music-influenced composers such as Frank Zappa and Kurt Weill to experimental pieces with entirely new concepts. In 2025, the group released the album Hannah Kendall: Shouting Forever into the Receiver.
