In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember learning classics on the piano like Mozart, Grieg and Bach, but then at some point discovering bands like ELP and Deep Purple. It triggered my ability to learn by ear. One of my first experiences in that sense was to play "Child in time". What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Deep Purple, Made In Japan Pat Metheny Group, Pat Metheny Group Weather Report, Heavy Weather Hard to choose only 3. However these 3 albums represent important eras in my development as a musician, learning by ear the music of Deep purple, then moving into jazz/fusion with Weather Report and Pat Metheny Group. Tell us why you chose this song. “Earth Song” I wrote this tune in France, January 2005, as a reaction to the catastrophic tsunami that took place in December 2004. The vocals of Portuguese Maria Joao and signature of musicians like Mathias Eick and Eivind Aarset makes it a special one. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? My collaboration with Pat Metheny at the Molde Int. Jazzfestival 2001. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Of course there will always be more goals to achieve. New compositions and recordings. Concerts around the globe on new venues, with great colleagues.
