Neal Goren

Neal Goren is an American conductor, pianist, and opera producer whose career has been defined by a sustained commitment to bringing rarely performed operatic works to the stage. As the founder and artistic director of two New York-based opera companies, he has shaped the landscape of chamber opera in the U.S. over more than two decades, championing overlooked works from the Baroque era through the present day while commissioning and premiering new operas by living composers. Goren has also maintained a parallel career as a highly regarded recital accompanist and educator. He was heard on the world premiere recording of Boulanger's La ville morte in 2026.
