Glasperlenspiel

Consisting of vocalist Carolin Niemczyk and keyboardist Daniel Grunenberg, Glasperlenspiel are a German electro-pop duo named after Nobel Prize-winning author Hermann Hesse's futuristic last full-length novel. Formed in their hometown of Stockach in 2003, the pair spent several years writing for other artists before finding fame in 2011; following a support slot on Ich + Ich's German tour, they won the Energy Newcomer Contest, finished fourth while representing Baden-Wurttemberg at the Bundesvision Song Contest with the single "Echt," and charted at number 15 with their debut album, Beweg Dich mit Mir. Several singles followed in 2012 before the duo released their follow-up LP Grenzenlos in 2013, which reached the Top Ten in Germany. ~ Jon O'Brien
