Elias Rønnenfelt

Elias Rønnenfelt plays pop-influenced indie rock with the energy and presence of a punk rocker, giving his songs a grit that doesn't betray their tunefulness. He first won an international audience as the lead singer with Iceage, a Danish band who evolved from a darkly sophisticated hardcore punk group on 2011's New Brigade to a more polished and accessible (but no less intelligent) approach on 2021's Seek Shelter. Rønnenfelt would explore different musical avenues with the side projects Marching Church, Pagan Youth, and Vår, and stepped out on his own with the purposefully sloppy but tuneful 2024 solo effort Heavy Glory. He offered a batch of stripped-down but effective indie rock tracks on Lucre, a 2025 collaboration with Dean Blunt.
