Her Rodeo - EP

Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan-raised singer-songwriter Kalsey Kulyk leans into her cowgirl side on this six-track EP, writing slice-of-life vignettes about riding, roping, and the open road. Opening track “Neon Cowgirl” introduces the EP as such, pairing Western imagery—“Amarillo skies”, “the thorns of a desert rose”—with a vocal from Kulyk that recalls Lainey Wilson or Alison Krauss. Other highlights include “Smokin’ Gun”, a slow-building revenge song that takes cues from genre classics like Carrie Underwood’s “Before He Cheats”, and a stripped-down version of “Love Me Like an Outlaw”, a fan favourite off of her 2024 album, Outlaw Poetry, that takes on a new level of vulnerability with this spare arrangement.
