Joshua Burnside

Joshua Burnside is a singer/songwriter whose sober, literate indie folk is inflected with Irish folk tradition and contemporary indie rock. Additionally influenced by music like cumbia that he took in on a trip to Colombia, his debut album, EPHRATA, won the Northern Ireland Music Prize for Best Album in 2017. The title of his third studio LP, 2020's Into the Depths of Hell, revealed the seriousness of its subject matter, while 2025's tenderer Teeth of Time was informed by becoming a father. He grappled with the death of his best friend on the more starkly arranged It's Not Going to Be Okay, which followed in 2026.
