In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Dancing around the coffee table to James Taylor, Anita Baker, Janet Jackson, and Rachmaninoff. My childhood soundscape was pure body and soul. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Mama's Eyes” This is the purest and most vulnerable song I’ve written yet. It captures exactly where my mind was during the pandemic — wrestling with a “coming of age” chapter, determined to make something of myself in the hopes of measuring up. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I'm grateful and honored to have been recognized by the Ivors Academy with a nomination for songwriting in 2024. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Beyond awards and stages, my dream is to create a visual album. Dance and music live in my body, but through film they become timeless — that’s where I feel most inspired, and most myself.
