About Easykid

Easykid is the moniker of Joaquín Palacios, a Latin urban singer and rapper born in 1995 in Antofagasta, Chile. Initially more of a pop-punk fan, in his mid-teens he veered toward urban music and even joined a few local crews. Around 2017 he adopted the name Easykid and almost immediately managed to break into the higher echelon of the Chilean urban scene due to the success of "MVP," an early single with DrefQuila. By the time he released his debut EP Visionari (2019) he was already collaborating with A-listers such as Pablo Chill-E and Paulo Londra. His first album, the Dysbit-produced +Xqa, appeared in 2021. Up until this point a more or less run-of-the-mill Chilean reggaeton artist, Palacios developed a much more personal style for Sorry, Estoy En Mi Darkera (2023), combining reggaeton, trap, and dark EDM with a strong melancholic vibe and vulnerable lyrics, which struck a chord with a much bigger audience. Indeed, Palacios enjoyed a triumphant 2024 with his singles and collaborations now routinely scoring in the tens of millions. That same year he launched the supergroup Los4Fantásitcos with Kidd Voodoo, DrefQuila, and Young Cister, releasing the album Los 4F: El Origen and achieving massive virality with "Enrolar - Fantastic Four Remix." Its success, however, would be dwarfed one year later by the more than 200 million streams of "Shiny," included in Easykid's third full-length I'm Part. ~ Mariano Prunes
