About J. Anomaly
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My earliest musical memory is performing Jackson 5 covers with my younger brother Justin. We had so much fun recording these for our YouTube page! "I'll Be There" is our most iconic cover! Do you see some of this soulfulness in my raps? What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? J. Anomaly, A Moment Lost to Find Blue J. Cole, 2014 Forest Hills Drive Kendrick Lamar, good kid, m.A.A.d city (Deluxe Version) GKMC was one of the very first rap albums I listened to. Cole, just like Kendrick, made me fall in love with conceptual rap. 2014 FHD is iconic. With my own album, A Moment Lost to Find Blue, I try to add to the conversation started by my influences. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Fo' Sho” I love my song "Fo' Sho" because it was my first song to receive radio play! "Fo' Sho" has been played on KSSU (Sacramento State University's radio station)! What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I always dreamed of having the same impact as some of my favorite artists; thus, from a young age, I've jotted down rhymes wherever I could. To finally have my own music praised as lyrical by fans across the world has been a very rewarding feeling! Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I want to release an "Undisputed Classic." You know that speechless feeling you get after listening to albums like good kid m.A.Ad city, channel ORANGE, etc.? I want to release my own body of work that's appreciated in such a way by the mainstream.
