Guitarist Brent Rambler strives to write inspiring lyrics in an effort to counter the perception that metalcore bands sing only about “violence or devil worship or dragons.” ∙ Their 2015 release, Found in Faraway Places, hit No. 1 on four different Billboard album charts. ∙ On the Grammy-nominated single “Invisible Enemy,” Jake Luhrs’ vocals were inspired, in part, by the growling screams of comic book character Wolverine. ∙ Their version of the holiday standard “Carol of the Bells” was featured in the TV series American Dad and in trailers for the film The Spirit. ∙ Band members have collaborated with various metal and hardcore bands, including As I Lay Dying, blessthefall, and Pierce the Veil. ∙ After numerous fans confided their personal struggles to him, Luhrs launched HeartSupport, a nonprofit organization providing mental health resources.
