About Paula Kelley
Indie pop auteur Paula Kelley is a multi-faceted singer, songwriter and arranger whose deeply melodic orchestral style builds upon her love of the classic AM sound of the '60s and '70s, as well as her legacy as founding member of the beloved Boston shoegaze outfit Drop Nineteens. Following her early success with Drop Nineteens and the short-lived Boy Wonder, Kelley debuted her bubblegum and twee-pop-infused sound with 2001's Nothing/Everything. She garnered yet wider acclaim with 2003's The Trouble with Success or How You Fit Into the World, an album that revealed a darker, more personal approach and showcased her sonically lush orchestral arrangements. Following a move to Los Angeles, Kelley largely moved away from pop music, instead focusing on arranging and scoring for film projects. She reunited with Drop Nineteens for a 2023 album and tour and returned to her solo work her 2026 song cycle Blinking as the Starlight Burns Out.
