With a bouncy, upbeat style that leans on punchy beats and a hybrid of R&B and rap vocals, UK-bred DJ and producer Nathan Dawe carries the torch of classic garage hitmakers. • At school, Dawe studied IT and German. He says the IT probably helps his music, since he works with computers. • Dawe started DJing at nine years old and played every birthday party, school dance and wedding he could. • His 2018 debut single, “Cheatin’”, pairs a sample of Deborah Cox’s “It’s Over Now” with a jumping house beat and a pitch-shifted hook. • With “Flowers”, a 2019 collaboration with Jaykae, Dawe earned his first Top 20 UK hit.
