Right from the release of his swag-packed breakthrough single “We Rollin’” in 2021, India-born rapper and singer Shubh, aka Shubhneet Singh, has been a juggernaut in the Punjabi pop and hip-hop scene. Amassing over five billion streams by the end of 2024, the Toronto-based superstar is among the top Indian artists worldwide, with several number-one hits that cut across strident gangsta rap, emotional R&B and party-starting pop that’s heard in cars and clubs, gyms and weddings—and features on the playlists of cricketer Virat Kohli and actor Ranveer Singh. Shubh's remarkable rise hasn't always been smooth, however. His much-awaited India tour of 2023 was cancelled in the aftermath of his sharing a controversial social media post that depicted an altered map of the country. He had a relatively better 2024, during which he was named Hip-Hop/Rap Artist of the Year at the Canadian Music Week Indie Awards, and enlisted to be the first Global Ambassador for the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change's Digital Climate Library.
