Carl Cox

A perennial favorite and the best DJ in the world according to fans and dance music magazines alike, Carl Cox has been a part of Britain's dance scene from the heady days of disco through the global clubland of the new millennium, with temporary pit stops covering hip-hop, rare groove, and rave. Perhaps the best testament to his mixing skills is his immense popularity despite his focus on music much more intense than arena trance or commercial EDM. In addition to his work behind the decks, as documented on dozens of mix albums, Cox is an accomplished producer with several U.K. Top 40 hits and albums spanning three decades, from At the End of the Cliché (1996) to Electronic Generations (2022). The latter, released the year he headlined at Wembley Arena, was inspired by a newfound passion for performing original material. Singles made in collaboration with Paul Oakenfold ("Concentrate") and Perry Farrell ("Joya") are among his subsequent output.
