Cari Cari

Cari Cari hail from Austria, but their sonic palette is as American as indie rock gets: a minimalist mix of hypnotic vocals, thick electric guitars, and a simple backbeat. Formed in 2011 by singer/drummer Stephanie Widmer and singer/guitarist Alexander Köck, the pair debuted on 2014 EP Amerippindunkler. Cari Cari's full-length debut, Anaana, arrived in 2018, featuring the standouts "Nothing's Older Than Yesterday" and "Summer Sun." The retro-but-timeless aesthetic continued on 2022's Welcome to Kookoo Island, and even expanded on a 2021 live EP that featured cinematic backing from the Film Orchestra Babelsberg. Third album One More Trip Around the Sun, issued in 2025, featured the same sound tied to some of the duo's most pop-accessible melodies yet, and was supported by extensive touring throughout Europe chronicled the following year on the album One More Trip Around the World - Live!
