Josh Ross

With his hearty, modern sound, country singer Josh Ross shifts between sweet sentimentality and laidback, good-time vibes. Growing up in the Toronto area, Ross was an athlete as a kid and an American football player in university. He eventually picked up a guitar when injuries ended his dreams of playing in the Canadian Football League. Ross cut his teeth in bars near campus and eventually made his way to showcasing at the massive Boots and Hearts Music Festival, which inspired a move to Nashville in 2019. In short order, he released the romantic “If You Were a Song” and lush “Born with a Boyfriend”, both anchored by pristine production and clever lyrics. In 2020, his debut EP, Do What You Love, followed suit with tunes like the sweeping, YOLO-invoking title track and ‘80s pop-indebted “Chevy”. The following year found him kicking back at the beach with the twanged-up, sun-kissed weekend jam “Tall Boys”. And in 2024 he released Complicated, a heartfelt look at a past relationship and its lingering regrets.
