Lead singer Josh Todd was introduced to original lead guitarist Keith Nelson by their tattoo artist. ∙ The band was originally called Sparrow but had to change their name after receiving a cease-and-desist letter from the Christian music label of the same name. ∙ Their song “Lit Up” was featured on the soundtrack for the Will Ferrell film Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. ∙ Their single “Sorry,” from the album 15, was a certified-Platinum Top 10 hit. ∙ Josh Todd appeared alongside Lyle Lovett, Eliza Dushku, Zooey Deschanel, Gene Simmons, Henry Rollins, and David Hasselhoff in the 2002 teen comedy The New Guy. ∙ Buckcherry’s single “Crazy Bitch” sold more than 2 million copies. ∙ The band has been nominated twice for Grammy Awards in the now-defunct Best Hard Rock Performance category.
