Ian Escobar

Colombian Afrobeat singer Ian Escobar broke through in 2025 with the viral hit "Moscow." Inspired by the sounds of his native Cartagena, Escobar set up to blend local rhythms such as champeta with other trendy Caribbean and urban genres, including dancehall and Afrobeat, serving up a contrast between the ebullient vibes of the eminently dance-oriented music with rather introspective lyrics. Escobar began uploading singles around 2020 and, in 2022, released a joint album with Chestthar Downs and Louis DM titled Flow La Nueva. Escobar achieved his first true hit with the Knox DJ-helmed "Moscow," which attracted considerable attention even beyond Colombia's borders. Released in early 2026, Escobar's debut EP, Sin Drama, featured him working with several producers and writers.
