Dead Dads Club

London-based indie rock duo Dead Dads Club take the grief and loss of their past -- specifically the loss of lead singer Chilli Jesson's (former Palma Violets frontman) dad when he was 14 -- and channel it into raw emotionally charged songwriting. After Palma Violets disbanded in 2016, Jesson began searching for a new creative outlet, going on to form the short-lived Crewel Intentions in 2018 before taking on pop songwriting behind the scenes, although neither really satisfied him in the end. He received an invite to join Fontaines D.C. on tour in 2024, reigniting his rock instincts and causing him to reach out to Rupert Greaves. Together they formed Dead Dads Club in an effort to explore the pain of the past through guitar-driven yet stripped-down indie and post-punk. Their eponymous debut album saw release in 2016.
