In Flames

Formed in 1990, pioneering Swedish melodic death-metal band In Flames fused their aggressive sound with Iron Maiden-style guitars. ∙ Soundtrack to Your Escape was their first US hit album, making the Billboard 200 chart in 2004 and selling more than 100,000 copies. ∙ In Flames have won four of Sweden’s Grammis Awards, and in 2006 they were the first metal band to win the Music Export Prize, given to globally successful Swedish artists. ∙ Come Clarity was named the best Swedish album of the 2000s in a readers poll by the Scandinavian newspaper Aftonbladet. ∙ Eight consecutive In Flames albums have landed in the Swedish Top 5, including 2019’s chart-topping I, The Mask. ∙ Trivium, Darkest Hour, As I Lay Dying, and All That Remains are among the many American metalcore bands that have named In Flames as a major influence.
