S3X & DRILL - EP

It took a minute for Derek Santana’s career ascent to properly take off, but judging by his 2025 output, it’s been worth the wait. Hailing from Trujillo Alto, the Puerto Rican singer-songwriter has become a proficient figure in the sexy drill space, his collaborative summertime single “FAYA” with Omar Courtz and BASSYY only fuelling his momentum. This suitably titled five-track outing collects some of the songs that capture his suave and seductive star essence, including some previously released heat like the exhaustively direct and detailed “KAMI” with Viejo Culprit and Fabriell. Opener “NATY” sets the tone for what’s in store, its deep bass and skittering rhythm giving his lyrics a wide berth for audacity. On subsequent tracks like “MALU” and “NO SE SALE”, the production refuses to yield from its sleek, futuristic gravity. Still, it’s the veritable centrepiece posse cut, “KHELANI”, that gives the EP its biggest boost of stamina.
