Michele Greene

Michele Greene is more known as an actress, particularly for her role as Abby Perkins in the television show L.A. Law, than as a musician. She is also a singer/songwriter, however, and put out her debut album, Ojo de Tiburon, in 2002. As Don Was says on the back sleeve, the music is a link between American folk and Latin music, reflecting Greene's ancestry; her mother is Mexican/Nicaraguan, while her Oklahoman father was a fan of Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, and Woody Guthrie. Much of the album is sung in Spanish, and the record was produced in sparse, tasteful fashion by Peruvian guitarist Ciro Hurtado. ~ Richie Unterberger
