Gavin Adcock Essentials

Born and bred in Georgia, country singer Gavin Adcock has earned a following by combining an edgy rock ’n’ roll sound with radio-friendly pop country. The explicit “Deep End”, decidedly not radio-friendly, was Adcock’s first single to cut through, painting him as a hard-living partier with a dark side and attracting an audience who related to his uncensored style. On “A Cigarette”, Adcock introduced fans to his more traditional country bona fides, singing about heartbreak over a spare acoustic guitar and pedal steel. “Run Your Mouth”, another successful early single, turned out to be something of a credo for Adcock, who’s gotten considerable attention for his willingness to stir up controversy within Nashville’s tight-knit community: “Run your mouth and don’t look back,” he sings on the gold single. The intimate “Need To” and “Last One to Know” marked Adcock’s first appearances on the country charts, and “Never Call Again”, an uncharacteristically vulnerable tune, is Adcock’s first single to make it to the country radio charts.
