Steve Bug

A linchpin of Germany's club scene for over 30 years, Steve Bug is known for an evolving hybrid of house and techno that variably incorporates minimal techno, deep house, and acid house production techniques. He began as a DJ and remains a global draw behind the decks, in tandem with his production work and running the labels Raw Elements, Poker Flat, and Dessous. Bug's commercial DJ mixes include the Bugnology series and sets for Cocoon and Fabric. He made his 12" debut in 1995, and over time built a reputation for putting together albums that play out as full listening experiences. The Other Day (2000), his third LP, features one of his biggest tracks, "Loverboy," and he has continued to thrive creatively with subsequent LPs such as Collaboratory (2009), Noir (2012), and Never Ending Winding Roads (2020). Another slew of highly refined singles and EPs has followed since the release of the ruminative latter.
