JOSEPH

Named after a small town in northeast Oregon, Joseph is a harmony-driven folk-pop duo comprised of Portland-based sisters Natalie and Meegan Closner. Initially a trio with third sister Allison Closner, the band's self-released 2014 debut melded an earthy indie folk style with the lush dynamics of pop and rock, and helped them earn a contract with ATO Records. They followed it up with 2016's more expansive full-length, I'm Alone, No You're Not. After an EP and handful of singles, Joseph further engaged with their rock side on 2019's dynamic Good Luck, Kid. Over the next two years the band offered stripped-down versions of their songs on a pair of Trio Sessions then returned in 2023 with the folk-rock hybrid of The Sun, their third full-length. After Allison's departure in 2024, Natalie and Meegan recast Joseph as a more rock-oriented duo and released the punchy Closer to Happy in early 2026.
