About Ronnie Bowman
North Carolina-born Ronnie Bowman sang gospel music with a family group from the age of three until his late teens. He was equally effective singing traditional bluegrass tunes as he was voicing songs by contemporary singer/songwriters. He first came to the public's attention as the vocalist and bass player in the Lonesome River Band alongside Sammy Shelor, Dan Tyminski, and Tim Austin. He went on to win several American Bluegrass Music Awards, including the prestigious Male Vocalist of the Year in 1995, 1998, and 1999. He died in Nashville, Tennessee, on March 22, 2026, at the age of 64. ~ Zac Johnson
