Skye Newman

London R&B singer/songwriter Skye Newman delivers raw tales of dysfunction and self-actualization in her powerful, husky voice over soulful, strutting, minimalist instrumentals. Born in south London, Newman grew up in a chaotic, dysfunctional environment where family members struggled with addiction and she moved often between different homes. As a child she took refuge in music; she began writing at 11, and was recording in studios by the age of 13. After finishing school, she decided to release some of her songs on social media. After one of her tracks blew up and became a viral sensation, she was quickly signed by Sony to a development deal. Newman entered the U.K. Top 20 with both of her first two singles ("Hairdresser" and "Family Matters"); her debut EP SE9, Pt. 1 was released in October 2025. ~ John D. Buchanan
