In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember my childhood filled with hours singing at the piano while my mom played and sang "Les Mis" or "Phantom" with me. It’s where I learned harmony and performing live. Bon Iver, For Emma, Forever Ago Mumford & Sons, Johannesburg - EP Patty Griffin, 1000 Kisses Johannesburg EP by Mumford & Sons with Baaba Maal, The Very Best, and Beatenberg—it’s holy to me & feels alive. It captures how I got here, where I am now, and where I’m headed. It’s about choosing fearlessness—remembering that my purpose is to learn. The production reflects that edgy, imperfect energy. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I was playing a show at a women’s prison in Kentucky. My guitar wasn’t approved, so I sang acapella, shared my story, and sang hymns with a few of my own songs woven in. Looking out and seeing dozens of them in tears, I knew healing was in the room. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? There are collaborations and opportunities I’d be honored to do, but I’ve loosened my grip on those being the priority. My goal is simple: make a living doing what I love and create meaningful impact doing it. If I’m on track for that, I’m satisfied.
