With his Don’t Touch the Classics remix series—featuring bootleg reworkings of songs by Blur, OutKast, Dr. Dre and others—Dutch DJ and producer San Holo became a SoundCloud star during the future bass era. • Before making his name in electronic music, San Holo taught kids to play guitar. • In 2014, San Holo formed the indie label bitbird, which released his 2016 smash hit “Light”. The single's soft vocals, shiny toy synths and exaggerated drops gave the artist his unique sound. • Bored with the future bass formula, San Holo dug into his post-rock roots for his 2018 debut LP, album1. The LP featured prog-rock guitar, cassette-tape field recordings and thoughtful use of dynamics. • While touring behind album1, San Holo mixed electronic production with live guitar and singing. Soon after, he revived his lo-fi electronic project, Casilofi. .
