About Young Fresh Fellows
Creating a skewed and tuneful mix of British Invasion-era pop, garage rock, offbeat humor, and pop culture obsession, the Young Fresh Fellows are one of the most venerable institutions of the Seattle music scene. They became one of the first independent bands from the rainy city to earn a nationwide reputation in the 1980s, winning an enthusiastic cult following, the approval of critics, and the admiration of their peers (Peter Buck, Paul Westerberg, and Jeff Tweedy are avowed fans). They debuted with 1984's scrappy The Fabulous Sounds of the Pacific Northwest, and 1987's The Men Who Loved Music was their breakthrough release. 1991's Electric Bird Digest presented their rock & roll at its most potent, 2012's Tiempo de Lujo was a rollicking return to form after the group had gone to part-time status, and 2026's Loft was recorded during one productive day at Wilco's personal studio.
