Avvy Sra is the sort of artist whose name has been noticed countless times in the credits of hit songs—like his composition “Ve Haaniyaan”, a soulful ballad by Danny that reached the top five of Apple Music’s all-genre chart. Yet most know little about him. That’s perhaps because, while Sra been releasing since the late 2010s, he’s decidedly media shy; indeed, he didn’t give his first proper interview until 2023. The prolific Punjabi music composer and singer, who has said music is the most important thing in his life, prefers to spend his time in the studio. As a composer, he’s provided bangers and ballads for several of the brightest stars of the Punjabi industry—from Diljit Dosanjh, Jassie Gill and Jordan Sandhu to Mankirt Aulakh and Sultaan. That versatility has also served him well as music director on a wide range of films including 2021 period drama Qismat 2 and 2024 horror-comedy Jatt Nuu Chudail Takri. Sra got his first taste of the spotlight as a vocalist with the 2020 hit “Banglow”, which featured regular collaborators Sukh-E and Afsana Khan. As a lead act, he’s best known for 2022’s “White Brown Black”, which includes a guest rap by his friend, superstar Karan Aujla. The infectious tune was recreated as “3 Shaukk” for 2025 Hindi film De De Pyaar De 2.
