About Apollo Rojas
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One of my favorite musical memories is sitting by the TV with a boombox, ready to record Big Daddy Kane on Yo! MTV Raps or Video Music Box, praying Mom wouldn’t talk during the recording. Capturing my favorite artists felt like pure magic! What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Aesop Rock, Labor Days Nas, Illmatic Pink Floyd, Wish You Were Here I’d pick any album by Aesop Rock (my fav MC)—his mind-boggling wordplay gets better with age. Genius truly applies here. Nas' Illmatic is also genius—no one was doing what he did when it dropped. He changed the game. And Pink Floyd? Simply timeless! Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Independence: Free at Last” This song marks the culmination of what I’ve dubbed 'The Drug Trilogy,' where characters from the preceding two songs—Codependence: All-Consuming and Interdependence: The Company We Keep—collide in a dramatic climax of life, death, and the afterlife. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I'm just getting started, so my most memorable is releasing today's track, Vintage! Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I just want to be recognized as a lyricist. I have to things to say and feel like they should be heard.
