Born in Kuwait and raised in Ireland, singer-rapper-songwriter Reyan’s roots are firmly in Kerala and India’s pop and hip-hop scenes. He primarily croons in Malayalam but frequently combines the language with English and other tongues. His music is equally eclectic as he hops across a wide array of genres to produce his unique sound. In 2019, he launched the New Thira Productions label with fellow Kerala-origin artist Melvin before the pair’s big breakthrough in 2021 with Afrobeats-inspired belter “Thamburati”. Since then, Reyan has honed his craft and delved into the world of Malayalam film music.
