Stacey Kent

New Jersey native Stacey Kent is a world-renowned jazz vocalist who frequently sings in French. ∙ Her 2000 LP, Let Yourself Go: Celebrating Fred Astaire, reached No. 2 on Billboard’s Top Jazz Albums chart. ∙ In 2001, Kent was named Vocalist of the Year at the British Jazz Awards, and she won Best Vocalist at the 2002 BBC Jazz Awards. ∙ Breakfast on the Morning Tram, her 2007 release featuring four songs with lyrics by novelist Kazuo Ishiguro, was nominated for a Best Jazz Vocal Album Grammy Award. ∙ In 2009, she received an Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, the honor presented by France’s Minister of Culture recognizing noteworthy contributions to the arts.
