Adrian L Santos

In the overcrowded arena of Mexican regional music, it is not uncommon for young artists to attempt some slight variation on the dominant trends in order to stand out from the pack. Such is the case of Adrián L.Santos, a singer and songwriter from Nuevo León who specializes in corridos de desamor, a subgenre that adopts the sounds and mannerisms of the popular corridos tumbados genre but applies them mostly to the subject of ex-girlfriends and spite-inducing heartbreak. Scouted by the influential Rancho Humilde label, Santos became an internet sensation before turning 20 with viral hits such as “Pal Amor Soy Malo” with Oscar Maydon, “Ya No Estoy Dolido” with Joaquín Medina, and “Tristón” with Luis R Conriquez. Preceded by dozens of singles, his debut album, Se Cantan Se Bailan y Se Lloran, appeared in September 2024.
