Sam Burchfield

A native of Southern Appalachia, singer, songwriter, and guitarist Sam Burchfield has drawn influence from traditional and indie folk, Southern rock, Americana, and psychedelic music, among other genres like blues, soul, and jazz. His solo debut album, 2014's Where to Run, and the follow-up, 2016's Unarmored, added occasional horn accents their ambitious arrangements and passionate performances, while 2020's somewhat back-to-basics Graveyard Flower focused on childhood inspirations, including nature. Two years later, Scoundrel delved into Southern, psychedelic, and folk-rock, as did 2024's Me and My Religion. Burchfield stripped things back significantly for 2025's folk-centric Nature Speaks, his most earnest outing to date.
