Note To Self

Note To Self

Rising Atlanta MC Dess Dior has a mind that works quickly and an inclination to chronicle her ideas. This is how we got February 2026’s Take Notes EP, and just two months later, its longer-playing counterpart Note to Self. Note-taking, it would seem, is step one of the Dess Dior lifestyle, a sort of self-actualisation program for aspiring baddies, with Dior holding up herself as the archetype for knowing your worth and not accepting a dime less for your time and attention. Dior introduces herself on Note To Self with “Too Blessed”, a therapy session on record wherein the MC takes inventory of the challenges she’s bested to become “Ms. Put It On”. Immediately thereafter, she’s instructing potential suitors how she’s to be treated on songs like “Tell Me Now”, “Come Correct”, “What I Need” and “Spoil Me”. Communication is indeed key, but coming clean about the calibre of woman you are isn’t exactly a foolproof formula for domestic bliss. Songs like “Missin You”, “Different Pages” and “M4” play as testimonies to Dior’s own misadventures in love. “Go” then—as in what one could say to cheer her on—reaffirms that the right partner for Dess Dior is the man who understands how fortunate he is to have a role in the show.
