Mexican singer Pedro Haros began writing corridos as a way to cope with family tragedy, taking his stage name from his late brother, who was affectionately dubbed Kanales. ∙ His breakout single, “Casitas de Cojoyo,” has had more than 20 million views and was nominated for Video of the Year at the 2017 Premios de Radio. ∙ Singer-songwriter El Fantasma duetted on the 2017 single “Los Cuervos,” earning Kanales his first Top 20 hit on Mexican radio. ∙ The 2019 album Hombre de 14 Años debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican chart and at No. 3 on the iTunes Latino chart. ∙ A testament to his rapidly rising star, he was nominated for Best New Regional Mexican Artist awards at both the 2019 Premios Juventud and the 2020 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
