Ragana

Ragana is a fiercely D.I.Y. queer anti-fascist blackened doom metal duo drawing inspiration from "Pacific Northwest forests, early Cat Power, and the total destruction of capitalism." Taking their name from the Latvian and Lithuanian word for "witch," the group has built a bold catalog of socially and politically charged releases, including acclaimed efforts like You Take Nothing (2017) and Desolation’s Flower (2023), that blend uncompromising heaviness with haunting melodies. The immersive Ash Souvenir, a collaboration with drone artist Drowse, appeared in 2025.
