Maxwell Quartet

The Maxwell Quartet has made an impact at festivals not only across Britain but also in continental Europe. The quartet has a strong bent toward contemporary music and toward collaboration with artists in other media, including theater. In the 2020s, the group took to the recording arena on the Linn label with several items by Haydn combined with Scottish folk music. The year 2025 saw the release of Haydn: String Quartets Op. 77 & Folk Music from Scotland.
