Just Mustard

Fronted by Katie Ball, this Dundalk, Ireland quintet fuse elements of post-rock, shoegaze, and dream pop, creating an innovative and brooding sound that flits between discordance and ethereality. In 2016, they released a self-recorded, eponymous EP and followed this in 2018 with Wednesday, their debut album. A deal with Partisan Records -- the home of their regular tourmates, Fontaines D.C. -- was signed in late 2019, but it was two years before "I Am You," their first single for the label, appeared. Released in 2022, the production of Heart Under, their second album, offered a closeness and depth of tone, which suggested that they had spent the COVID-19 lockdowns refining their sound.
