Née à Waldorf dans le Maryland en 1996, Good Charlotte est une formation punk-pop américaine emmenée par les frères Joel et Benji Madden. Très tôt signé chez Sony Music en pleine explosion du mouvement aux côtés de Green Day, Sum-41, The Offspring ou Blink-182, le groupe livre un premier opus éponyme très remarqué en 2001, suivi par The Young and the Hopeless en 2002 qui enfonce le clou à l'international. En 2016, avec Youth Authority, Good Charlotte offre son sixième opus en vingt ans d'une carrière partiellement résumée sur un Greatest Hits paru en 2010.
