La chanteuse/MC britannique Estelle a fait une apparition sur les albums de Skitz, 57th Dynasty et Blak Twang. Elle fait ses débuts en solo en 2003 avec le 12" Excuse Me sur le label Paradise Isle, mais perce véritablement en 2004 quand sort 1980, avec le label V2. Fin 2004, V2 publie son premier album, The 18th Day, qui fait un carton au Royaume-Uni. En 2007, le chanteur américain de R&B John Legend annonce qu'Estelle sera la première à signer avec son label Homeschool, distribué par Atlantic.
