Matt Stell

American singer-songwriter Matt Stell’s music fuses modern country with Americana, blues, and rock. ∙ At university, Stell learned guitar and had some success as a songwriter, and he later opted to sign a publishing deal instead of pursuing a medical career. ∙ He released his debut album, A River Through It, in 2013. ∙ The 2018 streaming hit “Prayed for You” was his breakout track, topping Billboard’s Country Airplay chart and rising to No. 36 on the Hot 100. ∙ In 2019, he made his Grand Ole Opry debut, and the title track to his album Everywhere But On topped the country radio charts. ∙ Stell played 13 different characters in the quirky video for “If I Was a Bar,” from his 2020 EP Better Than That.
