Sammy Johnson

Sammy Johnson—or Sammy J to his loyal fans—is a reggae artist with a strong following in Australia and New Zealand. ∙ Johnson has celebrated his Māori and Polynesian roots through music since releasing his debut viral hit, 2013’s “Don’t Say Goodbye.” ∙ His 2014 debut EP, Prelude, reached the Top 20 of Billboard’s Reggae Albums chart, and 2018’s Moonlight Lovers peaked at No. 2. ∙ A frequent collaborator, he recorded 2013’s “Give Me All” with island reggae pioneer Fiji and 2016’s “Say That You Love Me” with Samoan American singer-songwriter Tenelle.
